oh how hot this summer is!

today has been filled with lots of cleaning and alone time with voltron (the kitty)...

the above picture is of our plants the first one is an older pictures--taken on my phone-- and the 2nd is a newer one (taken this morning) out on the front porch of our apt... they are a satsuma orange, the basil (it's gotten so big since justin moved it to a bigger pot) and the plumeria (that's so huge too since it started as just a clipping that justin's parents gave him) and our TALL (super tall) tomato plant (in the back of the orange plant) that justin bought a tomato stake for at our local hardware store down the street! cannot wait until all this stuff is picked and i get to actually cook stuff with it! having a garden (even if it's on a patio) is SO much fun!

justin went fishing in galveston today with his dad and brother at 5am this morning and they caught 20 trout! cannot wait to hear all about that!

i've done laundry.... cleaned... and got a good work out in! today is a good day! only 3 more days of work this week and then it's NASHVEGAS on thursday morning! yay for summer trips!

justin and i just enjoyed breakfast at barnaby's ... one of our favorite breakfast spots in montrose!

i really love living in houston because of the wide variety of both people and food BUT it is sooooooooo incredibly hot here.. last night we went to the miller outdoor theater which is about a 10-15 minute walk from our apt. and saw *symphony nights* a free concert series by the houston sympohny! we brought a huge blanket and drinks and sat on the grassy hillside, and had fun but man was it hot outside... we got a good walk both there and back in though which was good despite the heat!

today is going to be filled with lots of working for 3 weddings at work... hopefully tonight will be filled with some relaxation and drinks with friends!

justin is getting a bearded dragon aquarium this weekend to prepare for the arrival of a new member of our little family! :0)

SXSW '09

yesterday.. spent most of the day in AUSTIN at SXSW hanging out at *maria maria* and *cuba libre* and spending time enjoying the weather and catching some live music... Ferraby Lionheart/ & my brother

i've been on a lil' bit of a vacation for the past month so i decided that since my dear and lovely boyfriend is letting me stay with him til i move to austin that i would earn my keep and be the good housekeeper that i am and keep things tidy and organized! upon straightening the dresser drawers i found the most adorable pictures of *him* when he was lil' .... we are going to have the cutest kids ever...... one day.....

being in houston has been the best thing ever.. i've had some time to relax, let my hair down (even though i wear it in a pony tail most of the time cuz i really need a cute hair cut.. it's been 6 weeks...ahhhhhh) and let me have a lot of fun with the boy i LOVE!

another day in texas.....<3

so i've been livin' it up in texas for about a month, with the exception of the week and a half i was in LA...

so here is what has been goin' on with me as of late

finished work at bread & co in nashvegas at the end of july...packed up a lot of what i own *(mainly clothes and shoes)* and stuff it into my car, hung out with jamie/laney and katie and my sis and bro and parents and took the wheel of my camry and headed to little rock.... after stopping there and sleeping in a gigantic hotel room downtown by myself.. i took my garmin (GPS) and headed to houston... after a 7 1/2 hour drive there, down lots of roads where i really felt like i was in the middle of nowhere, i got here to houston.......

i finally got to be in the arms of my now boyfriend.... justin is amazing and spending time with him, just going to dinner, working out at the gym, going for walks around RICE and memorial park...doing the simple things, our hands intertwined... everything has been so much fun...now i finally get to experience what a real relationship should be! he is amazing and i don't know what i'd do without him... he adds so much happiness to my life and just makes me wake up with a smile on my face every day...

so after 9 days w/ him i headed to LA, a long drive was in store for my mom and i... we drove to el paso. then to LA the next day.... but LA and life there was NOT what i had expected.. as much fun as i always have every time i visit, LA turned out to NOT be the place for me... i withdrew my enrollment from the school in hollywood there and am NOW enrolled in the TCA, Texas Culinary Academy in Austin, Texas where i will be starting classes september 29th!

tomorrow morning justin and i are making the drive to austin to check everything out.. i have NEVER actually been to austin but have a lot of family friends there, plus justin's aunt lives there.. and i have heard such great things about it... i can't wait to continue down this road in my life...

i am so happy right now.. i can hardly stand it!
